Eli’s Restaurants offer Mug Club to its loyal, craft beer loving customers
“With the Mug Club, many of our best customers come for the great craft beer selection and stay for the great atmosphere and conversation. It’s a win-win.” – Kevin Fitzsimmons, Co-Owner of Eli’s Tavern and Eli’s Orange
Milford, Connecticut (February 6, 2018) – Two restaurants, Eli’s Tavern in Milford and Eli’s Orange, are offering a Mug Club to its loyal, craft beer-loving customers. Memberships for the Mug Club are $85 annually if you're a new member and $75 annually to renew. With a membership, you get a tee shirt, growler, and mug with the number of your choosing.

"We give Mug Clubbers custom designed mugs with their very own number, and have cool, exclusive events for folks who join throughout the year," said Kevin Fitzsimmons, co-owner of Eli's Tavern and Eli's Orange. "It's been great to get to spend more time with our loyal customers and to see the types of friendships that have spawned from the group. With the Mug Club, many of our best customers come for the great craft beer selection and stay for the great atmosphere and conversation. It’s a win-win.”
Mug Club President Rob Sims, who initially became a Mug Clubber in 2016, stated that he joined at the Eli's Tavern location shortly after moving here from Chicago, Illinois to Milford, Connecticut.
"I joined the Mug Club because it was a way to meet people," said Sims. "Coming to Milford from another state, it was so cool to come in and have this mug, and be that person that who can say, ‘oh, you have a mug, too.' You can get to know somebody that way. I think it's building a friend group in the community that draws me and others to Eli's Tavern and the Mug Club.
“If you’re coming to Eli’s, you’re going to see beers that you may never have seen before. The Mug Club at Eli’s gives us somewhere to go, a local bar that functions as our place, as our hangout, as our very own ‘Cheers’ right here in Milford, Connecticut.”

Since launching in 2016, more than 200 people have become members of Eli's Mug Club. Benefits for annual dues-paying members include: free first mug of beer after becoming a member, four more ounces of beer every time you order one, half-priced apps (Monday-Saturday, 12:00 AM – 6:00 PM), every Monday get a pizza and a growler fill for $20, and Thursday's exclusive ‘ghost line' tap of craft beer, and more (Click here for a full list of Mug Club benefits).
Jess Camp, a Mug Clubber since 2017, said that she joined the Mug Club after moving to Milford to meet new people.
"I chose Eli's over other restaurants because of the excellent food, outstanding beers, good vibe, good scenery, and it's close to home," said Camp. "Eli's Mug Club is different than others because they also arrange separate side events where we'll go visit different breweries, have other local events on the weekends both inside and outside of Eli's.
Camp added: “It’s nice that you can come into the bar if you’re alone, or even here for a quick drink, and then if you see someone with a Mug you can engage in conversation. It’s nice to see friendly faces in the bar and to celebrate beer.”

Currently, of the five Eli’s Restaurant locations, only two – Eli’s Tavern in Milford and Eli’s Orange – feature the Mug Club. However, according to Fitzsimmons, the hope is that continued success in these two locations will better position Mug Club expansion into all five spots.
"We couldn't be happier with the Mug Club's success to date at both locations," said Fitzsimmons. "We hope to build it out further in Milford and Orange this year, figure out what's working and what's not, and then hopefully add the Mug Club model in Hamden and Branford."
