Eli’s Tavern offers “Work Bar” option for NCAA tournament fans working remotely
Milford, Connecticut (March 15, 2018) – On Thursday, the “work bar” at Eli’s Tavern (21 Daniel Street in Milford) will be open to NCAA fans and others who are looking for a remote workspace. Eli's Tavern is fully-equipped with several televisions, plenty of power outlets, and a comfortable atmosphere that includes over twenty tap lines, with most featuring local craft beer.
“March Madness costs employers a productivity loss of more than $2 billion per hour,” said Kevin Fitzsimmons, the General Manager of Eli’s Tavern, citing a study from the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray, and Christmas.
“With more and more folks working remotely or from home during March Madness, we're providing an option that allows folks to be productive while watching their favorite college basketball games in a fun, comfortable, ‘work bar’ setting. That’s why folks who are looking for a 'work bar' atmosphere, and for those who want to enjoy the games at a top-notch bar and restaurant, come to Eli’s Tavern.”
Not only does this week mark the start of March Madness – and end with St. Patrick’s Day – but in New England, March 14-20 represented the most robust beer sales week in 2017, averaging 10 percent higher than the remainder of the year, according to Food & Wine Magazine. Beer sales historically peak on March 15, according to Upserve.
